This command allows you to test a file for download before you actually download the file. The testing procedure is determined by the SysOp so it may vary from system to system.
[filename] | Filename to test. | This is the file that will be tested according to the testing procedures designated by the SysOp. You may only specify one filename at a time. |
How many times have you downloaded a file only to find that it will not uncompress due to errors? The TEST command permits you to check files for viruses and other corruptions that might exist in a particular file. When you enter the filename to test, you will be informed after a short delay whether the file passed or failed the predetermined criteria. If the filename you enter to test does not exist on the system, you will be notified that the filename you entered does not exist and you will be allowed to enter a new filename to test.
