Customizing Your BBS
System Manager, as the name implies, is a utility designed to help you manage your system. Not only can you make global changes to the users file, but you can also access other frequently used utilities such as PCBSetup and PCBFiler.
There are three ways that you can access System Manager:
- From the call waiting screen, select PCBSysMgr.
- While logged in locally (not with the /LOCALON switch for PCBoard), you can press ALT-S.
- From the DOS prompt you can load PCBSM.EXE. If a PCBOARD.DAT file cannot be found in the current directory and you have not used the /FILE command line parameter, you will receive an error message stating that PCBOARD.DAT could not be found.
Once System Manager is loaded, you will see the Main Menu. The various function of system manager are available from these menu options. To select a particular option, press the letter at the beginning of the line, or move the currently highlighted option using the cursor keys and press ENTER to select the option. If you make a mistake, you can always use the ESC to go back to the previous menu.
This section will describe each menu item in detail including any sub-menus.
In addition, the command line parameters for System Manager are described in
detailed at the end of this chapter.
